Golden Star Resources has once again honoured the hard work and dedication of farmers in Ghana with generous donations in celebration of 2025 Farmers Day. This year, farmers in Wassa East, Ahanta West, Mpohor, Twifo Atti-Mokwa, and Tarkwa-Nsuaem are the beneficiaries of support valued at GH₵400,000, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity in these communities.
The donations include tricycles, bicycles, Wellington boots, cutlasses, knapsack sprayers, wheelbarrows, and sewing machines, all designed to enhance efficiency and help farmers maximize their yields. Over 200 farmers are expected to benefit directly from this initiative.
This marks the 13th consecutive year Golden Star Resources has supported Farmers Day, with a total investment exceeding GH₵2 million in agricultural development since the program began. Beyond Farmers Day, Golden Star’s commitment to agriculture is further demonstrated through the Golden Star Oil Palm Plantation (GSOPP), which empowers over 500 youth and farmers and has attracted more than USD 3 million in investment.
Through these efforts, Golden Star Resources continues to play a pivotal role in supporting local farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture, and driving community development.
The company congratulates all farmers and especially the 2025 Farmers Day awardees, acknowledging their contributions to food security and rural development in Ghana.
