Hon. James Gunu Commissions Information Vans to Boost Public Communication in Volta Region

James Gunu has commissioned three state-of-the-art communication vans for the Information Services Department (ISD) at the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, marking a significant step toward improving government outreach and public engagement across the region.

The newly deployed vans are strategically assigned to serve the Central, Northern, and Southern zones of the Volta Region. The first van, designated for the Central Zone, will be stationed in Ho and will serve districts including Ho, Ho West, Adaklu, Agotime-Ziope, Central Tongu, South Tongu, and North Tongu.

The second van will operate from Kpando, covering the Northern Zone districts such as Kpando, Hohoe, Afadzato South, South Dayi, and North Dayi. Meanwhile, the third van will be stationed in Ketu South to serve the Southern Zone, reaching communities including Ketu South, Ketu North, Akatsi South, Akatsi North, Keta, and Anloga.

According to Hon. Gunu, the initiative is aimed at bridging the information gap between government and citizens. He emphasized that the vans will play a crucial role in combating misinformation while ensuring that accurate government policies and programs are communicated directly to communities.

In addition to the vans, the ISD also received 19 desktop computers, one laptop, and 19 routers to enhance digital connectivity and operational efficiency across the region. Hon. Gunu expressed gratitude to the government and acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Domi and his team for their support.

He further urged stakeholders and community members to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment to maximize its impact and longevity.

The commissioning of these resources highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening communication infrastructure and promoting informed citizen participation in governance.
