HON. ERIC AFFUL CUTS SOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MODERN DURBAR CENTRE AT ASANKRANGWA
The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi West, Hon. Eric Afful, on Monday, 2nd June 2026, officially performed a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a modern Durbar Centre at Asankrangwa in the Western Region.

The project, which is expected to become one of the biggest event and cultural centres in the municipality, forms part of the MP’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting community development within the constituency.

Addressing residents and dignitaries during the ceremony, Hon. Eric Afful stated that the construction of the Durbar Centre became necessary after it emerged as one of the urgent developmental needs of the people based on the municipality’s scale of preference.
According to him, the facility will have a seating capacity of over 2,500 people and will serve as a venue for traditional events, community gatherings, social activities, and important public functions within the area.
The MP further disclosed that the project is expected to be completed within one and a half years. He assured the people of Asankrangwa and the entire Wassa Amenfi West Constituency that by the end of December 2027, the modern Durbar Centre will be fully completed and ready for use.
Residents and community leaders who witnessed the ceremony expressed excitement and appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a major step toward the development and modernization of Asankrangwa.

The project is expected to create opportunities for social and cultural activities while enhancing the image of the municipality.
