Ghanaian music icon and cultural activist Wiyaala has officially announced that she is set to be outdoored and enskinned as the Paramount Queen Mother of the Funsi Traditional Area on January 17, 2026. The announcement came via a video she shared on her social media platforms, where she expressed her excitement and gratitude for the honor.

Known globally as the “Lioness of Africa,” Wiyaala was chosen by the elders and kingmakers of Funsi in recognition of her dedication to cultural preservation, community advocacy, and empowering women and children. Her new role will allow her to contribute directly to traditional governance while promoting social development within the community.
To celebrate this historic milestone, Wiyaala has also announced the Pulung Festival, scheduled for the same day as the enskinment ceremony. The festival promises a vibrant celebration of the Funsi culture, featuring performances by Wiyaala herself, Samson B, Best Gally, and other local and international artists.
This enskinment not only highlights Wiyaala’s influence as a global music icon but also reinforces her commitment to preserving Ghanaian traditions and promoting community development. Fans and well-wishers are eagerly anticipating both the ceremony and the festival as a landmark moment for the Funsi Traditional Area.
