The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor has demonstrated strong support for the creative arts sector by purchasing tickets to boost attendance for the 9th Edition of the Western Music Awards (WMA). The prestigious event is set to be held for the first time in Tarkwa at the Goldfields Junior Club House on December 27, 2025.
According to the MP, the gesture is aimed at ensuring that more residents, especially those who may not be able to afford tickets, can participate in the region’s biggest music celebration.
“It’s support for the event. This is mainly for the purchasing of tickets. We want to float a lot of tickets into the system so that people will have access and participate. But beyond that, we are prepared to support you and make sure the event becomes successful within the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality,” Hon. Taylor stated.

In a documentary captured during the presentation, the CEO of Westline Entertainment, organizers of the Western Music Awards, expressed deep appreciation for the MP’s contribution. He noted that Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor is the first individual to officially purchase tickets for this year’s event, marking a strong endorsement of the awards and their impact on the region’s creative ecosystem.
The move has been widely applauded by industry stakeholders and residents, who see it as a meaningful step toward strengthening the arts community, promoting local talent, and positioning Tarkwa as a major entertainment destination in the Western Region.
