Ghanaian musician Michael Adangba, known for songs such as Mampam and Mapeneso, has sparked conversation in the entertainment space after expressing his reservations about the music of award-winning artiste Black Sherif.

Speaking on Changes, a Joy Prime programme hosted by Roselyn Felli, Adangba acknowledged Black Sherif’s vocal talent but said the overall sound and delivery of his music make it difficult for him to listen.

“Black Sherif has nice vocals, but I cannot listen to his songs because it is noisy from the beginning,” Adangba stated. “The shouting is extreme for me.”

Explaining his position further, the Mampam hitmaker said his understanding of music is rooted in its ability to soothe and emotionally stabilise listeners rather than overwhelm them.

“The purpose of music is to calm a person down. His song is not the kind of music I want.  Anything music that disrupts our calmness is noisy,” he added.
