The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor has announced the commencement of the second phase of the decongestion exercise within the municipality.
According to a formal notice issued by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, the exercise is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 17 December 2025. The operation will focus on the New Site Junction–Bogoso Junction corridor, an area identified as a major traffic and commercial activity zone within Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
The decongestion exercise forms part of a broader municipal initiative aimed at easing traffic congestion, improving public safety, and enhancing the overall business environment in Tarkwa-Nsuaem. Municipal authorities believe the initiative will help restore order along major roads, create safer pedestrian pathways, and position the municipality as a premier business and investment hub in the Western Region.

Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah emphasized that the exercise is not intended to punish traders or residents but rather to promote orderly development and sustainable urban management. He called on all affected persons, including traders, transport operators, and property owners along the corridor, to cooperate fully with the assembly and its task force to ensure a smooth and successful operation.
The Municipal Assembly has therefore urged all stakeholders to take note of the scheduled activity and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the exercise. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out the operation in a professional and humane manner while prioritizing the long-term development goals of Tarkwa-Nsuaem.
Residents are encouraged to support the initiative as the assembly continues its efforts to build a safer, more organized, and business-friendly municipality.
