Former presidential staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has urged government officials to shift attention from political theatrics to bread-and-butter issues affecting citizens.
“Ghanaians need affordable and stable electricity, water and jobs. Focus on that and get the job done,” he said in a post on social media.
Aboagye argued that public disappointment is not limited to one political group. “You are not the only ones betrayed and disappointed by your government.
Teachers, nurses, cocoa farmers, students, unemployed youth have all been betrayed,” he stated.
He stressed that legal processes must be respected, noting that prosecution does not automatically mean imprisonment.
“Arresting and prosecuting citizens doesn’t automatically lead to jail. That’s how the laws work,” he said, citing examples of public officials who were tried in court and later cleared.
He added that Ghana must be governed as a state, not along partisan lines.
“Ghana isn’t any party’s annex for it to be run to the satisfaction of political fanaticism. Ghana is a state, being run to the benefit of all and the generations unborn,” he wrote.
