Infantino Calls for Tougher Sanctions on On-Field Racism

Gianni Infantino has called for stricter action against players involved in racist incidents during matches, stating that anyone making offensive remarks on the pitch should face immediate dismissal.

The FIFA president emphasized that players who cover their mouths during heated on-field confrontations raise suspicion, especially if racist language is later alleged. According to Infantino, such behavior often suggests an attempt to conceal offensive remarks.

He argued that if a player is not saying anything inappropriate, there should be no reason to hide their words. Infantino’s comments form part of FIFA’s broader push to strengthen measures against racism in football and reinforce zero-tolerance policies across the sport.
